Summer really wasn’t all that busy, I guess I just didn’t feel like writing. I wish I  knew what would light a fire under me to get me to write again. It’s been like that for years, the desire is there, but I guess not strong enough.

 I remember years ago after the first husband a-hem  ”left”, telling my therapist that I wanted to overcome my fear of writing. When I was in jr and sr high school, I wrote stuff  ALL the time.  Journals, stories, poems. Still have some of them too. But then, after marraige and kids, it all changed. I found out what a sneak the ex was, so to this day I cannot write of my innermost and have it  come out on paper or whatever. I just have this unreasonable fear of people reading my private things.

On to good news. My Marine son Noah is getting stationed in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. Lucky duck! His brother who is currently in Afghanistan will be coming home right before the holiday season starts, about mid November. We are planning on all meeting up in Nashville this year, instead of all the kids coming to us. I’m really looking forward to that, and what photo ops that will have!

Onward and upward to fulfill another day in the life, MrsG.

Lots has happened since the last post. My son Noah graduated from Marine boot camp – a Big YAY and OOHRAH for him. It was a really nice ceremony; I was really surprised that I didn’t bawl like I did at Logan’s a few years back.  I have to admit though, that altho the trip itself was nice; I do not enjoy the southern weather of South Carolina. I’m too used to cooler temperatures – here, once it gets hot and humid I stay inside. 

It’s Father’s Day today. My husband has already heard from his daughter in Arizona, and my youngest son is coming back from a sleepover soon. We’re gonna go see an early movie and I’m going to go to the store and buy fixin’s for stuffed shells and spinach, mmmmmmm. At DAD’s request, of course, LOL. I miss my dad, I still think of  him often. Occasionally I see him, he’s watching over me I can tell. (Sister Diane, does he speak to you or visit you?)

Well, I gotta go take a shower and get ready to go enjoy my day. Love and blessings to you and yours, MrsG

I have to admit, I saw this Friday on Oprah, and the next morning on the Today show, and I can’t get it out of my head. If only more humans were like this, can you image how much better our world would be? Just being friends because, no reason necessary. No judgement, just love.

I had lunch and shopping with a friend on Monday, lunch with Mom on Tues., got a break and just went to work on Weds., Thursday I went to spend Mom’s birthday money and ate lunch at Olive Garden with my 2 best guys; my hubby and son. Friday Carl and I went to go see Wolverine at the movie theatre; that was a great movie. Hugh Jackman for 2 hours, Ahhhh…. Saturday was the actual birthday. I went to work as usual, and all day long people wished me well, it was nice. I had lunch again with Carl, and he showed me the wonderful chocolate cake he got made at the local bakery down the street from the library where I work. Then….my friends Jaqui and Cheri went down to the bakery later that day and walked in with a flaming (from the candles) chocolate cupcake that had PB frosting with teeny-tiny Reeses on top of it. It made me laugh. I knew they were up to something, but it took quite a few minutes for Cherie to light the candles outside because of the breeze, and Jaqui was holding the door open the whole time. LOL

After work, I picked up John and his friend; and all of us went bowling. I had fun with that too, but physically I paid for it. I have a bum shoulder from an old injury, and it hurt and was almost numb by the time we left. Since then, it’s been the back and right leg. Just today it’s getting almost back to normal; which urks me because I haven’t been to the gym lately and I can feel it. ( mental note- must do that today!)

Oh, and then I got flowers from my son Logan and his wife,email cards from my sisters Diane and Jeanne, and  phone calls from my sister Barb , my birthday-twin girlfriend Nicole, and my daughter Ashley.  By the time that day was over, I felt really loved and appreciated. Thanks to everyone for all the lovely thoughts and expressions. It means so much to be remembered, whether it cost you money or not – that part doesn’t mean anything to me anymore like it used to many, many years ago. The saying that it’s the thought that counts is really true.

After writing this I realize why I’ve been so tired this week! But I’m feeling more like myself now. After talking to my friend Donna yesterday (for almost 3 hours! well, we hadn’t talked on the phone for what – 6 months??) I felt really good. I so appreciate her. If it hadn’t been for her ( and a couple other ladies I met online) I wouldn’t be where I am. I’ve been going thru a metamorphosis for over a year now. All my life, up until that turning point, I just lived unconsciously and never gave much thought of my own to anything. I guess it’s like a sheep being led to slaughter, I was a dumb ole’ sheep and had no clue about all kinds of different things, but especially spiritually.  I see a theme that runs thru my life of what’s been important to me – relationships and spiritual matters. Still are. Except now I see things in a different light and don’t believe everything that is spoon-fed me.

Well, that was my deep thought for the day, LOL

Off to other topics. We’ve had (up until today) gorgeous weather. Spring has sprung. Trees flowering, bulbs coming up, neighbors walking all over.

Saturday I hated being stuck inside at work until 4pm, but when I left, bliss. The thermometer on the bank up the street said 80 degrees. Carl picked me up for our date, we rode with the windows down. We had a little time to kill, so I wanted to see if the SPCA was still open, nope, they had just closed the doors. BUT, all the doggies have outside access in their cages, so we looked through the fences. I keep hoping the right one will be there soon – I’m ready for a pet again. I keep debating whether or not to get one before June though, because someone will have to keep it for me while I go to my son’s Marine graduation. I did see a couple, but haven’t motivated further yet.

Mexican food, YUMMMMMM.  We tried a new restaurant here by recommendation. It’s call Abrana Marie’s; which sounds Italian, but it’s not. Just a tiny little place just around the corner from Millionaires Row in Williamsport. Reservations are recommended only because they are so small, if it’s a prime eating time you couldn’t get in, LOL. I had cheese enchiladas with mushroom sauce. Very good, and they serve so much I had enough left over to eat the next day. I hadn’t had any decent Mexican since last year’s trip to Hawaii, so the taste sensation was long overdue.

Today, well….it’s raining. The weatherman said no full sun again until Friday. But without rain, we don’t have beautiful things to look at, so I’m happy.

It’s all gone, the “other” blog, so I’ll have to start from scratch. Hopefully, my readers will be able to comment on this site, sheesh!
